Howlett's Hard Work Pays Off

Ben Howlett joins the Essendon Bombers list as a Rookie following today's Rookie DraftBen Howlett's tireless hard work over the last few years has finally payed off. The 21 year old Donnybrook product was today picked up by Essendon at pick number 30 in the AFL Rookie draft.

Howlett follows in team mate Hayden Ballantyne's footsteps by becoming the second mature aged player to make an AFL list from Peel Thunder in 2 years.

Ben made his League debut in Round 13 of the 2006 WAFL season against East Fremantle and from 2007 onward has only missed a single game. 2009 was his stand-out season where he convincingly won the Tuckey Medal (Best & Fairest) and was labelled a "ready-made AFL footballer" by coaches and recruiters alike.
