Peel Thunder midfielder Michael Humble created history on Wednesday night when he was named the clubs first Jack Clarke Medallist for the fairest and best player in the WAFL Colts competition. In a thrilling count, Humble polled 3 votes against Claremont in the last game of the year to break a 4 way tie and was a popular winner of the award. The 181cm midfielder played 15 games in the colts competition averaging 26 possessions a game. Humbles strength is contested ball and this showed with a competition high 9 clearances a game as well as 6 tackles per game. Michael also demonstrated an ability to hit the scoreboard, pushing forward to kick 7 goals for the season.

The South Mandurah Football Club product has been a part of development squads from under 14s through to colts, has been an All-Australian at under 15 level, represented WA at under 16 level, and made his Peel Thunder league debut in round 11 against East Fremantle.

Michael has been a tremendous ambassador for the Peel Thunder football club, with parents Stu and Jen great supporters of the club. He is currently studying at the University of Notre Dame and has done a great job in balancing his study and achieving strong performances with his football.

Humble was also rewarded with a win in the WAFL colts coaches award, whilst along with fullback Aaron Naughton was selected in the Redimed WAFL Colts Team of the Year.

All at Peel Thunder congratulate Michael on his achievement and we look forward to watching his progression into the senior ranks in 2017.
