ROUND 1 - SENIOR DEVELOPMENT REPORT WITH COACH DANIEL HAINES

Round was was a very pleasing start to the season with a consistent team performance.  After a long pre-season it was great to see the way the players performed.   Our midfield was in control with Brad Walsh leading from the front with a solid 4 quarter performance 30 disposal game.  He was helped by the 60 hitout performance by Luke Strnadika in the ruck which gave our mids first use all day.  Michael Humble and Corey Morris were  solid thoughout.

The back line was strong all day providing rebound and keeping the East Freo forwards quiet.  Piggott, Bray and Mathers were always in the game and, as senior players took control in defence.

The forwards were very dangerous, Alex Cohen has had a great pre-season and finished the day with 5 goals, Leroy Jetta finished with 4 goals, Kaine Ah-Chee and James Kirby  put on great pressure and provided a strong target going forward.

We hope to build on our Round 1 performance and play with the same effort and attitude against Swan Districts away from home at Steel Blue Oval, Bassendean in Round 2.
