Reserves report.

Our win on the weekend was a combination of effort, trust and hard work on the training track. The boys have remained upbeat and building, whilst the Seniors have been playing some good footy.

The first half was tight and tough inside with our midfield battling all day with some good supply to our forwards who led with purpose and played their roles. Whilst out back six played as a unit, rebounding and stopping Claremont's ball movement inside 50.

The second half saw Peel control the scoreboard and head into the final quarter with a handy lead. To Claremont's credit they came hard and got within a few kicks, but strong belief and determined composure the boys held on to an impressive win.

Overall we were very pleased with the team as stayed true to our structures and style of play.

A lot of work still to do but what a great feeling.

See you all at Bassendean to support the club as we take on Swan Districts.

Colts Report

Coming off the recent win against East Perth the boys were excited about the opportunity to take on the undefeated Claremont Colts. In a highly competitive and skilled game of colts football the Peel Thunder boys unfortunately went down by 12 points. Only 3 points separated the teams at half time, and notwithstanding some inaccurate kicking in the second term the Thunder boys should have been a couple of goals up at the main break. In the third term Claremont started to assert their authority through the midfield.

Despite Peel being able to maintain possession of the ball, Claremont were able to capitalise on a few turnovers and brilliant stoppage clearance work to extend the margin to 38 points at three-quarter time. As the players re-focussed on the processes in place, effort around the contest, ball movement and sticking disciplined to the structures, they were able to covert the scoring opportunities resulting 4.3 in the final term against Claremont’s 0.1. Despite the strong finish to the game, the 15-minute lapse in pressure and structural breakdown the result could have been different.
