Cossor’s Coming

The big man from Myrtleford, Toby Cossor will join Peel Thunder for Season 2026!

207cm, 110kg and only 20 years of age, Toby will bring valuable ruck quality and further competitiveness to Peel Thunder.

GM Football Operations, Sam Skinner shared Toby’s journey to Peel and what he’ll bring;

“Toby’s a proud Myrtleford person and has been playing his football at home there in one of strongest country football leagues in the country, the Ovens & Murray FNL. After a short stint in the Box Hill VFL program two years ago, Toby returned to play consistent senior football for Myrtleford.

We have been chatting with Toby for close to two years now. It’s funny how the football universe works, two genuine ruckman, Riley Smith (previous Peel ruckman) returned home to Myrtelford from Peel in 2025, and in 2026 Toby Cossor comes to Peel from Mytleford. Our Reserves assistant coach in Greg Sanders has also played with Myrtleford.

Toby’s a man on a mission. He driven to squeeze every bit of potential out of himself, see how far he take his football. He fits our culture and on-field needs – Super competitive, a proud character, team-first and we feel he has plenty of growth to come. He was awarded the player-voted trademark player this year for Myrtleford.

New recruit, Toby Cossor shared what he’s looking forward to and what he’s aiming to bring to Peel Thunder;

“I’m just so excited to join the Club and appreciate the opportunity the Club is giving me. I love the community feel, it reminds me a lot of back home in Myrtrleford so I feel very comfortable.

“I feel like I can bring aggression and bulk work to win the football and more importantly make my teammates walk taller knowing that I’m there besides them. I’m keen to start pre-season and have a dip with the boys.”

Welcome Toby and the Cossor Family to Peel Thunder!
