Events Coordinator
The Peel Thunder Football Club competes in the WAFL, with a partnership with AFL club Fremantle Dockers. As the youngest WAFL established club, we have a short but proud history which includes winning WAFL Premierships in 2016, 2017 and 2024, back-to-back WAFLW Premierships in 2020 and 2021, along with Colts Premierships in 2004, 2005 and 2022.
The Club has a full-time employment opportunity for an Events Coordinator to join our team. This role plays an important role in driving the long-term success of the Club’s functions and events, including maximising the use of the facilities, and providing excellent customer service to all stakeholders.
Reporting to the General Manager Commercial Operations, the main responsibilities of this role include:
– To increase patronage of the Peel Thunder Football Club facilities by members, players, guests and the community.
– To increase revenue generated by the Peel Thunder Football Club facilities.
– Manage all bar and functions operations including staffing, sales, equipment, maintenance, promotions, bookings and in-line with agreed timeframes, income and expenditure.
– Manage all Peel Thunder Football Club events, including but not limited to President’s Luncheons, Gala Auction, Best & Fairest presentations and member activations.
– Provide all members, sponsors and guests with a high-level service and overall event experience at the Peel Thunder Football Club.
The successful candidate will have:
– Tertiary qualifications in hospitality or business management, or equivalent experience in senior position, including sales and/or partnership growth.
– Accredited Approved Manager qualification preferred, or willing to complete course.
– National Police Clearance.
– Extensive financial management experience to support the annual budget process of the Club.
– Excellent stakeholder management skills, including leading a team of staff to deliver outstanding service.
– Excellent planning, programming and promotional skills.
– Highly developed and proven communication (verbal, written) and interpersonal skills.
– An ability to interact effectively as part of a small team.
– Strong work ethic, ability to prioritise projects and a willingness to work outside business hours, including weekends.
