PTFC 2018 OCEAN HILL ESTATE ACADEMY PROGRAMS

We have had a number of enquiries about PTFC Ocean Hill Estate Academy programs for the 2018 season. It is fantastic to see the number of young footballers keen to push to play at WAFL level. This year we will not be holding trials in January for our squads, please see below for information on how sides will be selected this season.

The WAFL development programs are now run through the WA Football Commission- this will ensure consistency across the clubs and promote best practice for the development of young footballers in the state, whilst also giving players the opportunity to be involved in the WAFL environment from 14 years of age.

This year our programs will be as follows:

Colts- born from July 1, 1999-December 31 2001 program runs from December-September- squad of 45 players – trial is by invitation only.

Under 16s- for players born in 2002. Program will run from December-April - squad of 35 players – trial is by invitation only

Under 15s- for players born in 2003. Program will be run from May-October. Selection will be through talent ID in club football and consultation with community clubs. Will be 2 training sessions in term 2 and a selection game in July holidays. Squad will train throughout term 3. Carnival will be held in Term 3 holidays with 1 squad of approx. 35-40 players

Under 14s- for players born in 2004 – program will run in Term 3 from July-October- clubs will nominate players to trial with 2 sides selected at this age level (30 per side)

The programs will no longer be selected according to school year, but the players year of birth.
