PEEL THUNDER PERFORM STRONGLY IN PRESEASON AGAINST CLAREMONT TIGERS

Monday, March 12, 2018 - 12:14 PM

Peel Thunder have enjoyed a 59 point victory against Claremont on Saturday 10/3 at Claremont Oval.  Whilst recognising that Claremont were missing 5 or so regulars we were really pleased with how the Peel boys attacked the game.

We played 25, 13 Peel based players and 12 Fremantle and the synergy and bond between the group was evident early through actions on field.

Despite losing the toss and kicking against a stiff breeze Peel were quickly into gear and tackled strongly early setting the tone for the game. Lawler and Switkowski along with Crowden continually hassled the opposition into error giving the Peel forwards opportunity.

Peel lead by 12 points at quarter time and extended that lead to 32 points by half time.

The second half mirrored the first with Peel eventually running out winners 13.11 to 4.6.

Better players for Peel were Ben Howlett, Gerald Ugle, Adam Cerra, Taylin Duman, Ryan Nyhuis, Mitch Crowden and Scott Jones.

What was also pleasing was the results in 16s, colts and Senior Development which gives Peel a great start albeit in a practice match as we all prepare for the big first game versus East Fremantle on 30/3.

This week we play Subiaco at Bendigo Bank Stadium, followed by our Season Launch at 6.30pm - we invite everyone to come down and support the boys.
