Hayes Announced as New Rogers Cup Coach
Another piece to the puzzle has been put into place for our Women's Program ahead of their 2020 campaign with Geoff Hayes appointed as our new Rogers Cup Head Coach.
Hayes, has been heavily involved within Football since first becoming a fitness advisor at East Fremantle in 1986. He has been a President of the Peel Football Umpires Association, was an Assistant Coach of our 16's program from 2004-08 and has been a Coach Co-Ordinator & Junior Coach at Secret Harbour Football Club since 2005. Last year he was an Assistant Coach to the successful Rogers Cup Premiership winning side, which daughter Kaitlyn captained.
While Hayes will look to continue to build on prior season's on-field success in season 2020, he knows that as part of the female talent pathway there are other aspects of life to gain from footy than just winning. "I am excited to be following in Steve Markham’s very large footsteps. Our players overall personal development is my key focus, as their journey in elite level football is only one part of their lives." Hayes said.
"This is a great time to be playing and coaching women’s sport. I hope that we all take the opportunity to get the best out of ourselves this season." Geoff and his Rogers Cup girls have already begun their Pre-Season training ahead of their second successive Premiership defense, which is currently scheduled to begin in early May.
