Foodbank WA Donation

Friday, February 14, 2020 - 3:12 PM by Paula Barnden

The Peel Thunder Football Club today presented FoodBank WA's Mandurah branch with $1,000 worth of groceries.

Foodbank Mandurah Branch Manager Megan Reynolds was brought to tears with the donation.  The impact of Bushfires around Australia has not only impacted Eastern States charities, but local ones too, as there have been delays with deliveries and the transferring of resources.

The donation was largely created thanks to all our Womens WAFLW Players who helped collect gold coin donations from spectators at the recent AFLW preseason game between Fremantle anPd Adelaide here at David Grays Arena.

As a club we are so pleased to play a key role in our local community, using our unique outreach as a sporting club to help connect people, while providing a key resource for charities to help generate awareness.

Peel Thunder would also like to recognize our club sponsor IGA Mandurah (Silver Sands) who arranged the produce.

If you are in a position to donate or pay it forward, please contact Megan Reynolds at the FoodBank WA Mandurah on 9581 9200 or megan.reynolds@foodbankwa.org.au
