2021 WAFL Leadership Group

The Peel Thunder Football Club is proud to announce our Leadership group for the forthcoming Optus 2021 WAFL Premiership Season.

Ben Howlett will continue his role as Club Captain for a 3rd Season after taking over from Dual Premiership Captain Gerald Ugle at the start of 2019.

Joining him as his Vice Captains will once again be Blair Bell and Ben Hancock.

Rounding out the 6-man leadership group are Jackson Merrett, Brayden Lawler and new addition Will Schofield who were all selected by their peers.

General Manager of Football Operations Matt Rosa says it’s great to see the continued influence of the Senior players on the younger members of the squad and the election of Schofield shows the effect he has had despite only being at the club for the last few months.

“It’s a great sign, to see the impact Will has had on the group in his short time around them.” Rosa said.

While not all the leaders will be present for this weekend’s opening Pre-Season clash with West Coast, their guidance and values will be invaluable as the side gears up for the season proper to begin in a month’s time on Good Friday against the Sharks.
