Round 3 WAFLW Preview and Team Selection

Friday, March 5, 2021 - 3:41 PM

We’re back at home this weekend as our League side takes on Swan Districts in a top of the table clash.

The Rogers Cup are 2-0 to start the young season coming off a big win against Subiaco, the girls defence was impeccable not allowing a score after quarter time. Rikki-Lee Morgan will be making her debut, while Tessa Kongras and Sienna Giudi will be coming back into the side after a fortnight in the Reserves.

Bouncedown is at 1.20pm

The Reserves bounced back from a disappointing opening round defeat with a resounding win. Whitney Benson will return after passing a fitness test yesterday afternoon. Rogers Cup girls Ava Rowley, Rose Hambrecht and Abbey Westra will all play up this weekend. While some old faces in Ava Muir, Hereripene Williams, Telisha Brown and Simon McCann all come in.

Bouncedown is at 3.05pm

Finally, the League girls will be looking to go 3-0 for the first time in the WAFLW competition when they take on League leaders Swan Districts.

Kaitlyn Hayes will make her League Debut for this season, while Kerrilee Brown comes back into the side after a week in the Reserves.

The game will pit the League’s best offense against the League best defense. The Thunder have scored 44-points more than any other team in the competition, while Swans Districts have somehow only managed to concede 18 points in two games.

Forwards Kate Bartlett and Ella Roberts have kicked 7 and 5 goals respectively and have formed a dangerous forward line duo.

Unfortunately the game won’t be livestreamed so make sure you get down to David Grays Arena tomorrow night from 5pm! Entry is free!
