2019 Peel Thunder WAFL Captain and Leadership Group

Peel Thunder Football Club are pleased to formally announce the 2019 Club Captain and Leadership Group. Congratulations to the following players:

Captain            –           Ben Howlett

Vice-Captain     –           Ben Hancock

Leadership Group –         Corey Morris and Blair Bell

This is what  League Coach Cam Shepherd had to say about the selections:

Captain – Ben Howlett

“Ben brings an enormous amount of experience and leadership to the club. Vice-Captain in 2018 having returned from a 124 game career at Essendon FC. Ben will be a great leader in 2019.”

Vice- Captain –  Ben Hancock

“Ben’s attitude is typified by his response when he missed out in playing the grand final in 2016. He was acutely disappointed and probably at a footy crossroad.  He chose to dig in, train harder and show his worth. His reward was a 2017 premiership medal. That’s the leadership we respect at Peel Thunder FC.

Corey Morris and Blair Bell – Leadership Group

Leadership members are Corey Morris and Blair Bell, both wonderful young men who typify how we want to hold ourselves in the community.  Resilient, hard workers both with a caring for fellow team mates are also some of their attributes.

Gerarld Ugle – Mentor

“I would like to recognise and congratulate Gerald Ugle, our dual premiership captain of 2016 and 2017 who steps down from his position of captain this year yet remains a mentor for all in the group.”

The Club looks forward to a successful Season 2019.
