Peel 10.16 (76) defeated West Coast 11.8 (74)

Peel managed to beat West Coast last Saturday by two-points. It was a fine win coming from some 44-points down early in the third quarter.

We were able to come up with a strategy which we as coaches then relayed to the players of how to win at half time, when we were 38-points down. Close down two of the oppositions key players, and install belief that if we owned the ball used it well and run, run, we would put West Coast under real pressure and gradually claw our way back into the game. We wanted to claw back the game to within three-goals at 3Q time, and we did. Belief grew. Then key players went to work in the last quarter, culminating in a wonderful victory.

Best players were Michael Randall, Tyrone Thorne, Ben Hancock, Sandy Brock, Blair Bell and Taylin Duman.
