Western Australian football stars picked in 2022 NAB AFLW Draft

The Western Australian Football Commission is pleased to announce the following players have been selected in the 2022 NAB AFLW Draft.



ELLA ROBERTS (Peel Thunder) 17 years old /175cm

Ella Roberts has been selected at pick 14 by the West Coast Eagles. 

One of the most talented players in the Draft, Roberts is an athletic forward or midfielder, with a great overhead contested mark.

Ella is a dual premiership player with Peel in the WAFLW, with her ability to perform in big games making her an obvious early Draft selection.




LAUREN WAKFER  (South Fremantle) 18 years old / 180cm 
Lauren Wakfer has been selected at pick 15 by the West Coast Eagles. 

One of the most exciting players in this year’s Draft, the South Fremantle ruck covers plenty of ground and accumulates numerous possessions.



ABBYGAIL BUSHBY (Swan Districts) 17 years old / 169cm 

Abbygail Bushby has been selected at pick 24 by the West Coast Eagles.

A speedy inside midfielder with the black and whites, Bushby’s athleticism, versatility and skilful left foot have made her a leading player with Swan Districts. 



MADELEINE SCANLON (Claremont) 21 years old / 172cm

Madeleine Scanlon
 has been selected at pick 27 by the Fremantle Dockers. 

Scanlon is a hard-running defender who has a high work rate and great athleticism, providing rebounds off half-back. 



ZOE WAKFER (South Fremantle)  18 years old 

Zoe Wakfer has been selected at pick 36 by the West Coast Eagles

A tall key position player, who plays back and forward and is joining her twin sister at West Coast Eagles.



EMILY ELKINGTON (Claremont)  17 years old / 157cm

 Emily Elkington has been selected at pick 43 by the West Coast Eagles.

Emily is a tough inside midfielder with clean hands that will collect the hard ball on the inside and has quick hands to handball to team mates on the outside.



JAIDE BRITTON (Peel Thunder)  19 years old / 165cm

Jaide Britton has been selected at pick 47 by the West Coast Eagles.

Fastest time runner at the 2022 NAB AFLW Draft combine WA 2km time trial and former State 19s Captain, Jaide is a 
winger who can run all day and is dangerous if you give her any space with the ball.



MIKAYLA WESTERN (Claremont)  24 years old / 166cm

Mikayla Western has been selected at pick 53 by the West Coast Eagles.

Mikayla took her game to the next level this year in the WAFLW, turning into a goal-kicking winger who’ll run all day.




TARA STRIBLEY  (Swan Districts)  19 years old / 164cm

Tara Stribley has been selected at pick 59 by the Fremantle Dockers.

Stribley is a skilled outside player who loves to go for a run and bounce. Stribley also holds clean skills and accuracy in kicking goals.



MEGAN KAUFFMAN (Wembley, PFL) 

Coming from Wembley Football Club (PFL), Megan is a former tennis player and a wildcard selection for Fremantle.



AMY MULHOLLAND  (Subiaco)  28 years old / 161cm

Amy Mulholland has been selected at pick 83 for the Fremantle Dockers.

Amy originates from Ireland and is a quick outside player. Amy played in the WAFLW Allstars game in 2022 against the State 18s, earlier this year.
