WEEKLY REVIEW | WAFLW ROUND 5
WAFLW
The WAFLW had a bye this week before facing off against last years grand finalist East Fremantle next Saturday.
Peel did however record 7 representatives in the WA State 18’s v WAFLW Allstars game with Kaitlyn Shroj, Kate Newson, Dakota Sexton, Holly Britton and Evie Cowcher representing the 18’s whilst Ebonee Hardie and Tanisha Anderson, who kicked the winning goal after the siren, played for the Allstars.
Congratulations to all the girls who played well and represented themselves and the club in the highest regard.
ROGERS CUP
This week all 4 of the Rogers Cup games were played at RevoFitness Stadium in Claremont on Good Friday.
We had our opponents from last year’s Grand Final, East Fremantle. Our first half was a great example of the type of football that we are capable of playing. The girls were fierce around the contests, explosive in their runs out of defence, leading and tackling well in the forward line and well structured, both around the ball and around the ground. In the third quarter we let this slip with the Sharks piling on 4 unanswered goals with the breeze. We wrestled back some control, outscoring them in the last, but the damage was done.
Our focus this week is to maintain the intensity across four quarters.
SCORE:
East Fremantle 7.4 - 46
Peel Thunder 4.3 - 27
This Saturday we are back at home playing ahead of our WAFL men with the WAFLW team playing last years grand finalist East Fremantle at 12pm and the Rogers Cup team playing Perth at 10am.
