Peel Thunder Football Club and WAFLW Senior Coach Steve Markham part ways.
Peel Thunder Football Club & WAFLW Senior Coach Steve Markham have made the decision to part ways moving into the 2024 season.
The Club would like to thank Steve for his integral role in the development and remarkable success of the club's women's program since 2016.
Demonstrating exceptional leadership, Steve earned consecutive titles as a Rogers Cup Premiership Coach in 2018-2019 before becoming Peel Thunders Senior WAFLW Coach which saw him achieve two more back-to-back titles in 2020 & 2021.
Under Steve’s guidance, the club has fostered a winning culture that has garnered admiration within the WAFL competition and from both players and fans.
The Peel Thunder Football Club Board expresses deep gratitude for Steve’s unwavering dedication and valuable contributions to the club's growth.
With a relentless focus on maintaining the highest standards within the WAFLW program, the club remains committed to cultivating an elite State League female program, thereby aspiring to achieve sustained success.
Reflecting on his time at Peel Thunder, Steve said:
“Although my journey at Peel has come to an end, I will be forever grateful of the opportunities the club has provided to work with some amazing staff and players."
