Local South Mandurah product, Jack Sears has re-signed at Peel Thunder for two more seasons at Lane Group Stadium. ‘Searsy’, only 23 years of age and already 75 games into his WAFL League career at Peel, is an integral part of the leadership group and is highly respected in the WAFL for his ability to play multiple roles when required. This finals campaign, Jack held down a key position role down back, different to last year’s final season where he was a key target up forward.

Upon signing on to Peel Thunder, Jack spoke of what Peel means to him – “The club obviously means a lot to me. I’ve been around the club for over 10 years now. They have given me a lot of guidance, support, and opportunities to play senior football. There is such a strong sense of community at Peel and it was really prevalent throughout the final series. I’m really grateful for the club, the board, the staff and all of our fans.

There was never a thought of going to any other club. I’ve really enjoyed the culture that we’ve created down at Peel over the last few years and I want to be a part of this as it continues on. I’m excited to see the development of all the young talent coming through the Peel region and looking forward to playing with these boys over the next few years.”

The Peel Thunder Football Club is certainly excited to see Jack, Peel Thunder’s GM Football Operations expressed, “Jack lives and breathes our values, his family are strongly connected to our club and he is clearly on track for a long and successful career at Peel Thunder. The coaching group has real trust in Jack’s ability to play multiple roles. This year Jack played on a wing, up forward and down back, performing to a high level in all roles.”

Jack finished by speaking about what he’s looking forward to over the next two seasons at least at Peel Thunder – “To further improve my leadership and help the young talent coming through to become league footballers. Another goal is to win another premiership for this club. I believe the connection that we’ve developed with the Fremantle Football Club over the past few years as well as the staff and playing group we have now, has put us in the right path to win another one.”
