Futures Coach, Craig Lindsay Steps Back
The Peel Thunder Football Club would like to publicly thank Craig Lindsay for seven years of exceptional coaching service to the Club, including leading our Futures program as Head Coach for the last three years. Craig has advised the Club this week of his desire to step back from coaching duties for this upcoming season and focus on life outside of coaching.
Craig has laid strong foundations for our Futures program and has been instrumental at leading our most talented players in a high-performance environment, with development always at his focus.
Speaking about Craig’s impact on the Club, Peel Thunder Talent Manager, Lachy Boneham said, “On behalf of the club thank you for all your hard work, dedication and commitment. Your calm and caring nature has helped so many players and staff from the club develop not only on the field but into great people off it too. On a more personal note I want to say thank you for your guidance and mentorship in not only football but in life as well, your presence around the club will be missed. Enjoy a well earned break."
Craig’s shared his thanks and best wishes for the Peel Thunder by saying, "I would like to express my sincere thanks to the club for giving me the opportunity to coach in numerous programs over the past seven years. It has been an incredible journey and one where I’ve learnt so much from a group of talented and dedicated people. By blending those experiences with my own style and knowledge, I hope I’ve been able to make a positive impact—not only with the staff but, most importantly, in guiding the young men on their journey, both in the sport and in life. I truly cherish my time here and the lasting friendships that I've made and look forward to seeing continued success for everyone involved at the club."
Craig’s impact on the Club and our players will always be remembered, as the following Peel Thunder players spoke about from their journey as Craig being their Futures Head Coach.
2024 Peel Thunder Premiership Player and previous Futures Player, Taj Wyburd, who was coached by Craig, said "I met Craig during my development time in the under 15s and Futures at Peel and straight away I was intrigued with his great knowledge on the game. Craig definitely left a foot print on my football growth and can’t thank him enough. Will never forget his AC/DC kicking technique! Thankyou Craig, you’ll be missed.”
A more recent player who was coached by Craig was 2024 Futures Player, Tyson Black, who said “Craig has helped bring me out my comfort zone and made me a better person not only on the footy field but also in real life. He taught me how to overcome the bumps in my road and achieve the goals I want to achieve, he was always there when I need to talk or express myself even if it wasn’t for footy.”
The Peel Thunder Football Club wish Craig and his family all the very best for their next chapter and thank him for his commitment and dedication.
