Dual WAFL Premiership Player (Colts and League), Donnybrook product and leader of our club, Scott Tuia has re-committed to Peel Thunder for Season 2025!

Scott’s the only player this season to play every League game and was recognised for his efforts by not only being a WAFL Premiership Player this season, but to be the Trademark Player (voted by his peers) and the Young Player of the Year Award.

A heart and soul Peel Thunder figure and fully entrenched in becoming a long-term player of the Club, Scott shared his excitement for re-signing. The future at the club looks bright. We've got a great bunch of lads who have been playing some good footy in both grades and are great characters off the field. We're a young group too, which fills me with optimism that we can keep developing players in order to not only replicate 2024 from a league perspective but achieve sustained success across the whole club. The Rodriguez Shield is an accolade we are chasing. The cohesion between the Peel and Fremantle football clubs is exciting as well. It's getting stronger by the year and some of the opportunities to connect with the Fremantle contingent of our alignment are prosperous.

In terms of what the Club means to him, Scott said, “The club is a massive part of my life. Obviously, we all spend a lot of time there so being able to continue to do that means a lot to me. The feeling around the club over the past 12 months has been unreal and that's thanks to all the people involved. It's a great place to be for players, staff and supporters alike, and I'm looking forward to getting after it with everyone again next year. The way my family and friends have been welcomed at the club has been great too.”

In terms of his goals for next season and beyond, Scott said, “Personally, with a year of league football under my belt, I'm looking to grow my game even further and become a really consistent player. I'd like to develop more in the leadership space and continue to develop my relationships with everyone around the club too. Most importantly though, I'm looking forward to enjoying my football and that's why I've re-signed at the Thunder.”

Peel Thunder Football Clubs Football Director, Chris Fairman spoke of Scott’s standing in the club. “Scott’s a WAFL Colts premiership captain in 2022 and now a WAFL League premiership player in 2024. Scott’s elite preparation and training standards has afforded him to be the most consistent player in 2024, being our only player to play all League games this season. A great South West product from Donnybrook, from a great family, we love having Scott and his family apart of the Peel Thunder Football Club.”
