2015 Player Auction
On Saturday night at the PTFC Season Launch we will be holding our 2015 Player Auction where you can bid on groups of players to win money throughout the season.
You will find the groups below. If you can't make it to the season launch please feel free to email or call through a Bid prior to Friday 4pm. Alternatively we have silent auction bid sheets in the Sports Bar at the moment. If you would like to come to the live Auction at the season launch, you can purchase tickets from Reception. $50 for a two course meal, and jumper presentation.
GROUP 1
Group 1 will kick the bidding off with local Jarrod Bowman coming off a solid season in the reserves in 2014. The 20 year old will swing between key forward and key back roles and is always competitive. Nick Gajewski is in his second season at the club and is a clever half forward who can win plenty of ball. The former Claremont player also knows where the goals are.Colts Braiden McMullen and Chad Wrigley are both midfielders with high endurance and an appetite for contested ball. Both run low 15 beep tests and will be players to watch over the course of the year. Dockers Brady Grey and Clancee Pearce were both excellent performers in their games at Peel Thunder in 2014 playing midfield roles, while Michael Johnson is an outstanding defender at AFL level.
GROUP 2
Group 2 has a strong Fremantle contingent, led by Dockers captain Matthew Pavlich. Tanner Smith has had a big pre-season and will look to hold down key post roles in his quest to return to AFL football. Tommy Sheridan is an elite ball winner in the WAFL and with 18 AFL games behind him will be driven to take the next step in 2015. Chris Williams is an exciting talent as a forward who is coming off injury but has the potential to tear games apart. David Tatton is new to the club and has shown positive signs through pre-season as a mobile CentreHalf Forward who works hard all day. Haydn Matthews has good colts form- with a best on ground performance last year against East Fremantle, the midfielderwill find plenty of ball and uses it well. Liam King has had an excellent pre-season and will look to play a role in defence or midfield in the colts.
GROUP 3
Alex Silvagni headlines group 3. The competitive defender is a standout at WAFL level and polled strongly in the Tuckey Medal in 2014. Craig Moller continues his development as a ruck/forward and kicked hauls of 3 and 4 goals at league level in 2014. Jared Bezudenhoit is new to the club this year and has shown excellent running ability and competitiveness as a defender, while Garrick McLaughlin will provide a tall target around the ground in his first year at the club. Jack Tomerini is a proven ball winner at colts level and the left footer has been elevated into the colts leadership group for 2015. Chris Howat will make his colts debut in 2015 and the pacey outside midfielder will provide headaches for opposition sides. Dockers veteran Luke McPharlinrounds out the group and Fremantle will be looking for a big year from the experienced defender.
GROUP 4
A number of up and coming players make up group 4. Jack Gomboc makes the step up from colts in 2015 and has been a standout with his running capacity and ability to shut quality players out of games. Pierce Dawson has elite skills and decision making ability and will be sure to play quality footy in 2015. Alex Cohen is a hard running midfielder looking to build on his 3 colts games in 2014. Cohen captained the Under 16s in 2014 and provides run and spread. Kaine May is an aggressive defender who can win plenty of the ball in the colts competition. Sean Hurley is a rookie listed Fremantle player from Ireland who will make his first steps in footy at Peel Thunder.Hurley is a big man capable of covering the ground easily. Dockers regulars Nat Fyfe and Nick Suban round out group 4. This group also holds the any other colts player- with 61 and 63 players used in the last
GROUP 5
Colts captain Sam Shackles leads off group 5. Shackles was second in the colts fairest and best in 2015 and relishes the inside ball. He will play throughhalf back and midfield and provide great leadership. Calvin Thorne is an exciting small and will have a huge impact on the colts competition with his pace and foot skills sure to excite the fans. Rhys Anzellino made his league debut in 2014 and will be looking to build on his tally in 2015. Rhys is anaggressive half back capable of playing through the midfield and winning lots of ball. Tarwyn Filipek is a quick small defender who makes the step up from colts footy in 2014. Matt Taberner led the league goal kicking in 2014 and is a strong hard working target in the forward line, while Tom Vanderluer showedgood signs down back last year and will be looking to continue to develop in2015. Speedster Stephen Hill caps off group 5.
GROUP 6
A number of midfielders and a developing ruckman make up group 6. Kyle Shanahan impressed all at the club in 2014 with his attack on the ball and contest in the colts. Shanahan finished 3rd in the colts fairest and best and will be looking to continue that form into senior footy in 2015. Lachlan Weller is in his first year at Fremantle and the Queenslander has had plenty of experience at NEAFL level, averaging over 25 possessions a game in that competition. Weller was Fremantles first pick in the 2014 national draft. Jackson O’Malley is a midfielder in his first year at the club and will be looking for a big year. Jake Greenwell has had a big pre-season and the Eaton product will be looking to make his mark in the ruck for the colts in2015. Damon Cramer provides run and smarts in the forward line for the coltsand has shown he will develop nicely over the year. Garrick Ibbotson polled a number of votes in his games at Peel Thunder in 2014, while David Mundy continues to be one of the AFLs quality midfielders.
GROUP 7
2014 Tuckey medallist and 2015 club captain Brendon Jones headlines group 7. BJ is due to play his 200th WAFL game in round 3 vs East Fremantle and has been a standout player for Peel Thunder over his time at the club. Stephen Kane made his league debut in 2014 and showed zip and dash in his 3 games as a small forward. Clem Jones is a key forward with strong hands and an accurate shot at goal, and will pose plenty of problems for opposition defenders. Connor Blakely was Fremantles second pick at the national draft and has a year of senior experience at Swan Districts behind him. Thetalented midfielder/half back is sure to make his mark in the competition this year. Travis Naughton is a competitive key defender who finished 4th in the colts fairest and best in 2014. Naughton has great athleticism and along reach and will press for higher honours through the season. Deakin Stein is an aggressive inside midfielder from South Bunbury in his first year of colts, while the ever-reliable Paul Duffield rounds out group 7.
GROUP 8
Group 8 is led by recruit and former Bomber Leroy Jetta who has had a standout preseason. The 93 game AFL veteran will be an excitementmachine in the WAFL and is capable of anything on the field. Riese Wilkey is an up and coming key forward in his second year of senior footy who possesses excellent hands and skills. Jack Winters is new to the club and is a dependable defender who will take on some key roles this year. Josh McMahon showed good signs in 16 colts games in 2014 with strong hands and work rate his stand out attributes. Josh has had a big pre-season and is looking to go to the next level. Jackson Burkett also has had a big pre-season and will look to make an impact at colts level as a defender in 2015. Dockers draftee Ed Langdon is a hard running outside midfielder who uses the ball well, while local favourite Hayden Ballantyne is sure to pose plenty of headaches for opposition defenders again in 2015.
GROUP 9
Vice Captain Eddie Dann had a huge 2014 and will continue to be a stand out for the senior side in 2015. Eddies run and foot skills off half back are sublime and he will be a key player in the squad for 2015. Luke Shepherd was the winner of the colts fairest and best in 2014 and the coltswill look for another huge season from the key defender in 2015. Ryan Stewart is new to the club in 2015 and the midfielder is known for racking up huge numbers of possessions and for his workrate. Blake Elliss is a small forward/mid who provides great tenacity. Josh Deluca was a standout in the WAFL grand final for Subiaco in 2014 and will provide goal scoring punch for thesenior side after being drafted by Fremantle at the end of 2014. Karl Collard is an exciting small forward who will make a huge impact at colts level in 2015, while Lachie Neale has made huge strides at AFL level and become a hugely important player for the Dockers.
GROUP 10
Josh Bootsma headlines group 10. The former Carlton defender had immediate impact in his WAFL games in 2014 and will look to be the cornerstone of the Peel defence in 2015. Bootsmas spring and long kicking are a real feature. Mitch Gill is new to the club in 2014 from Kalamunda and has been rock solid down back in all the scratch matches. Gill will be a fantastic recruit for the club. Jack Shanahan is a tough inside mid who was runner up in South Mandurahs fairest and best in 2014. Cruze Wilson is a strong marking half forward who will be an important player in the colts group, while Matt Nind is a developing tall who can play anywhere on the ground. Ethan Hughes is a running defender who has been rookie listed by Fremantle and is originally from HBL, while Ryan Crowley continues to be one of the best taggers around at AFL level.
GROUP 11
Perth recruit Gerald Ugle leads group 11 off and has shown in his time at Peel he is a quality user of the ball. The former GWS playerpossesses a lethal left foot and is capable of brilliance. Josh Mcaskil is ahard working midfielder who finds plenty of ball and is a strong 2 way runner. Jacob Ballard was runner up in the Tuckey medal in 2014 and showed an appetite for contested ball and tackle pressure. Alex Connor returns to the club after a year away and is a dangerous small forward/midfielder. Noah Hura is an exciting talent who is an AFL Academy level 1 player and will play across half back in the colts. Zac Beckman is a developing key position player who will make his mark on colts footy in 2015. Chris Mayne remains a key member of the Fremantle side and his work as a pressure forward is highly regarded.
GROUP 12
Fremantle listed Colin Sylvia headlines group 12. Sylvia is a powerful midfielder/forward and has the ability to win high possessions and kick multiple goals. Laine Wilkins has had a quality pre-season and entering his third year of senior football looks ready to take the next step with his vertical leap and kicking ability standout features of his game. Jamahl Mulholland is a elite runner who played some good footy in 2014 and will look to continue his improvement in 2015. Jake Dowding is a developing ruckman who gives great effort and always makes a contest. Jordan Adams is a small forward with great pressure skills. Adams played 19 colts games in 2014 and is a member of the leadership group in 2015. Danyle Pearce is an elite winger in the AFL, the former rising star winner has now played over 200 AFL games and is a key member of the Dockers side. An x-factor in this group is Connor Besci who is new to the colts group and in his first ever year of footy- at 191 cms and 90 kgs Connor is one to watch as the season goes on.
GROUP 13
The always consistent Corey Morris is the standout in group 13. Morris has excellent form picking up best on grounds at reserves and colts level and will be looking to take the next step into senior footy in 2015. Dylan Winton has played 13 senior games in defence now and received a best on in the seniors against Perth in 2014. Winton is still eligible for colts football as well. Blake Shanahan is an attacking defender in his first year of colts footy, while Josh Porteous is a key defender who will play an important role in the colts. Mitchel Curnow is a proven ball winner at colts level and one sure to win plenty of votes as he looks to become an elite player at colts level. Max Duffy showed excellent form in the back half of 2014 and was rewarded with an AFL debut, while Zac Dawson will hold down a key defensivepost for the dockers again in 2015.
GROUP 14
Group 14 is headlined by Josh Mathers who had a huge 2014. Josh made his league debut in rd 2 and played 16 senior games. Josh steppedstraight into senior footy, hasn’t looked back and will be sure to have another big season. Ryan Nye returns to the club and the former Adelaide listed player will provide experience and nous to the club and will be an important player in 2015. Keegan Power is a top age colts player who has plenty of X factor and is capable of the impossible. Power will play across half back/half forward. Hayden Davis has had a massive pre-season developing as a winger and should be a dominant player at colts level. Look for Hayden to push up the grades as well through the year. JoshEddy is a first year colt who is aggressive and loves the contest. Michael Apeness made his AFL debut in 2014 and the strong marking forward will be looking to build on his strong debut season, while Aaron Sandilands showed last year he is the dominant ruckman in the AFL.
GROUP 15
A couple of talls make up the Fremantle representation in group 15, with Zac Clarke and Alex Pearce in the group. Clarke showed in his appearances for Peel Thunder last year he is a force at WAFL level with hisability to take contested marks a highlight. Pearce had an excellent first year as a key defender and will be looking to push for an AFL debut in 2015. BenHancock made his senior debut in 2014 and showed in 9 games he is a long term talent. Playing on a wing or half back the 2013 colts fairest and best winner will be a huge improver at senior level in 2015. Shai Johnson is new to theclub this year and provides dash off half back. Brandon Smith is a long kicking, strong marking key position colts player who can play at both ends of the ground. Josh Webb played 4 colts games as a 16 year old in 2014, with the defender receiving Best on votes against East Perth in rd 22. Lewis Smith is an up and coming ruckman and is athletically extremely exciting.
GROUP 16
Brayden Lawler arrives at Peel Thunder fresh of a Fairest and Best win at league level for South West club Carey Park. The midfielderracks up possessions and should make an immediate impact at WAFL level. Anthony Morabito was one of the great stories in 2014 and is a dominant force in the competition. Morabitos ability to win high volumes of the ball is unparalleled. Michael Humble is a clearance machine at colts level. Last year in 5 appearances in the colts Humble averaged 21 possessions and 10 clearances per game. Brandon Penny will provide plenty of spark and pressure as a half forward in the colts group, while Matt Digney is a strong presence in the forward line. Jake Tregear is a strong running tall mid with the capability of going forward. Tendai Mzungu rounds out the group fresh off a pre-season where he has shown he is the Dockers fittest player.
GROUP 17
Group 17 features Nathan Fahey, who has had a huge pre-season. The key forward booted 20 goals in his last 8 colts games last season, including a haul of 7 against East Perth and is a strong mark. Look for him to make a huge impression. Kaiden Aitken is new to the club and provides pace and run. Jonathon Griffin led the WAFL in hitouts in 2014 and will provide experience and grunt in the middle. Brett Milward missed a number of games in 2014, but still managed a top 5 finish in the colts fairest and best. The aggressive forward has good hands and will hit the scoreboard. Matthew Yeates and Reece Dillon are colts players who will provide lots of run on the flanks, while Lee Spurr continues to gain recognition as a quality small defender at AFL level.
GROUP 18
Group 18 features some good up and coming tall talent, with Kieran May showing excellent signs on the track holding down the full back position. May will be looking to build on his 1 senior game back in 2013. Lucas Humphreys is new to Peel Thunder this year from Rockingham and has shown over the pre-season he can win plenty of the ball and distribute well off half back. Nic Merritt and Dixon Wight are both mobile talls in the colts group who will move between the forward line and the ruck. Both players are athletic, havegood endurance and mobility, and will win plenty of ball as talls. Ash Humphreys provides inside midfield grunt in the colts and is a player to watch, while ruckman Jack Hannath will take plenty of marks and provide goalkicking prowess in the seniors. Cam Sutcliffe has provided great defense and drive at AFL level. This group is one for the fans of the talls, and also features any other Peel Thunder player not listed.
GROUP 19
Group 19 is spearheaded by Brennan Gillam, who with a strong pre-season and 34 league games behind him, will be looking to take the nextstep this season in a variety of roles. Scott Ugle returns to the club in 2015 and will provide pace and run on the wing and flanks. Alex Bray was a solidcontributor in 17 colts games in 2014 in defence and is looking to make a move higher up the ground this season within the colts group. Robert Bird will be a crowd favourite with his attack on the ball and pressure. Bird also played in a senior premiership for Pinjarra last year and will add an exciting dimension to the colts group. Trent Goodrick is a clever half forward who will develop nicely over the season. Docker Hayden Crozier has shown he is a high quality WAFL player in his appearances at Peel Thunder, while Michael Barlow is a model of consistency.
GROUP 20
Group 20 is headlined by Cruze Garlett who has had an excellent pre-season, the former Kangaroo has shown great signs through themidfield in the intra club games and is a proven vote winner. Mitch Wallace is in his first season of senior footy and has been a standout on the track with his long left foot kicking and work on the lead. Josh Schoenfeld has shown he is an elite runner with the best beep test across the colts competition, and an excellent kick of the ball. Cody Schnaars is looking to take the next step in his footy this season and will be prominent through the wings and half forward in the colts, while Jacob Perry is a youngster capable of playing half forward/half back. The mercurial Michael Walters and the ever hard working Matt Deboer round out a group sure to poll plenty of votes through the season.
