RD 8 v Subi | WRAP UP
RESERVES
On Saturday we got the chance to take on Subiaco in the Reserves (Senior Development) at home. Another great opportunity to test our skills, style of play against a team in the top 5.
Subiaco got off to a flyer with some really slick football and our young side was given a bit of a lesson in contested football in the first quarter. In a period from the 10 min mark of the second quarter through to the 10 minute of the third term, we were able to play some good football, controlled and outscored Subiaco 4 goals to 2 goals. Although the damage was done in the first quarter.
The players learnt that we need to play for more than one quarter. We are seeing some very good signs and some of our passages of play resulting in score board pressure, but currently we lack the final possession into our forward 50 to turn around these ames.
This week we will keep working hard on the track to eliminate turnovers and better use the football forward of centre. South Fremantle poses another great challenge to this young group. Your support is always welcome.
COLTS
This week against Subiaco it was another case of so close but yet so far for the Peel Thunder Colts. In a highly competitive game it was a number of critical errors and turnovers which eventually left the Thunder on the wrong end of the scorecard. The boys have been most competitive over the last month winning one game and losing the other three by less than 2 goals, it could be a much different outlook as the side approached the state game by after this week’s clash with South Fremantle.
As the young side continues to compete hard and learn from the errors, we are all demanding more from each other on the training track and the playing arena to turn these possible results into positive wins as good efforts shouldn’t be apart of the Peel Thunder Football Club. Hopefully in the coming weeks the team will continue with the improvement and success will eventually come their way.
