APPOINTMENT OF PEEL THUNDER CEO MEDIA RELEASE

The Board of the Peel Thunder Football Club is pleased to announce that Mr John Ditchburn has been appointed as the clubs Chief Executive Officer.  His selection follows a thorough recruitment and selection process that received a number of quality applicants from interstate, overseas and Western Australia.

The selection process involved submission of applications which were then shortlisted for interviews which took place on 6th August 2015.  A selection panel was appointed comprising of the following members:

Ron Alexander

Director General Department of Sport & Recreation Western Australia.

Kath White

Former CEO of the Western Australia Cricket Association and City of Wanneroo.

Bob Ryan

Vice President PTFC

Ian Johnson

CEO PTFC and former CEO Department of Corrective Services

The selection of panel members was carefully considered to ensure significant experience at CEO level; sporting industry knowledge; diversity and equity and a balance of PTFC personnel and members external and independent of the Club.  The club also received support and assistance from the WA Football Commission with their HR Manager providing expert advice.

As is widely known, Mr Ditchburn was a President of the Peel Thunder Football Club, a position he has held since 2009 On applying for the CEO position he immediately stepped down from his role as President to ensure the integrity of the process.

Mr Ditchburn has been associated with the club in various roles since 2003 and is well known and respected within the Mandurah and wider community as being a very strong advocate for the club who has made a significant contribution over the years.  He is a former WAFL player with South Fremantle Football club and in addition to his involvement with football, he brings to the role a strong business background having run a number of commercial businesses.

It is anticipated he will commence his role at the completion of the current 2015 season and accordingly he has resigned from the Board effective immediately.  The Board will make a decision in due course in relation to the appointment of a new President.
