After five years with the East Fremantle Sharks, Rory O'brien has returned to the Peel Thunder Football Club.

The Sandover, Lynn and Tuckey Medallist said that he was very excited to spend his final years of footy playing for the club where it all began for him.

"I'm really looking forward to mentoring and being a part of the development of the young guys at the club. It's going to be an exciting 2016"

"The location and being closer to home was definitely a part of the appeal. I am looking forward to spending more time with my wife and kids," he said.

Peel Thunder Senior Coach, Cam Shepherd said, "We are really pleased that Rory wants to continue his career at Peel in 2016 and beyond. His experience (200 WAFL games) and training ethic will be invaluable to our young list."

"We are committed to consolidating our position following our first finals campaign in 2015 and believe that Rory can be a part of our continued on field success," he said.

O’Brien and the Peel Thunder Football Club look forward to a successful 2016 season.
