About the role
A vacancy exists for the position of Alcoa Development Squad Coach (14’s/15’s girls). The Peel Thunder talent pathway sets the benchmark in WA for providing talent to both the WAFL/W & AFL/W competitions.
The Development Squad Coach will be responsible for implementing a football program based on strong leadership, elite standards & individual player development & education.
This role presents a unique opportunity to make a positive impact and continue the progressive momentum established through hard work and perseverance by the Club and its stakeholders.
Key Focus Areas of the Position are:
- To assist capable players in getting drafted to the AFLW
- To prepare all players for possible progression to the club’s Roger’s Cup Program in subsequent years
- To create an elite environment that is conducive to both learning and enjoyment
- Contribute to the development of skills, physical attributes, football knowledge, personal growth and self esteem of all players
- Establish, implement and coordinate appropriate training programs that maximise the development of all players
- Lead and influence all support staff in a positive manner
- Embrace the Peel Thunder FC philosophy of developing our own
- Understand cultural backgrounds and ensure these are considered when making decisions that may affect player performance
- Align football development priorities closely to the Roger’s Cup & Women’s Programs and proactively engage with other coaches and staff
About the candidate
Requirements include:
- Minimum Silver (Level 2) AFL Coaching Accreditation (attained or working towards)
- Current Working with Children Check
- Knowledge of the WAFLW Talent Pathway
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
- Highly developed leadership skills
- From June to October Available on Tuesday from 4pm to 6pm and during Sept holiday for matches
