From the Coach's Box
Monday, 08 March 2010 15:32
Our road trip to Arena Joondalup on Sat 6th was a reasonably positive experience for the playing group and coaches alike, with some success being enjoyed by players in Game 1 and then an encouraging competitive effort from all players in Game 2. As against Subiaco the week prior, our focus against West Perth was providing an opportunity for players in the senior squad to test their progress against 2009 finalists and in doing so we had a blend of senior players through both teams.
Players in game 1 were impressive in their endeavours to play our style of game, while negating the opposition, and the final score line of Peel 12-14 to West Perth 7-1 was a good reflection of the work rate and fitness of all players. Rory O’Brien provided good run as a midfielder, while Daniel Murray and Johnny Bennell continued to build on their form.

Atkins' Match Report - Saturday vs Subiaco
Wednesday, 03 March 2010 12:48
Saturday could not have come sooner for the senior player group, as it seemed that every player just needed a game of footy.
Well a game of footy they got, with the impressive Subiaco coming to town & certainly displaying why they again will be one of the favourites to take out the 2010 premiership.
But the 15.15 – 105 to 5.4 – 34 result in Subiaco’s favour is a little misguiding, considering Subiaco were playing their second scratch match, whilst we were only playing our first, with Subiaco putting out a very competitive side, including 12 triple premiership players, with our side mainly consisting of young players, who needed to experience playing against a quality team/players.

From the Coach's Box

Saturday saw Peel Thunder have their first interclub club hit out against Subiaco with some encouraging results, and some pleasing performances, as we build towards our round 1 game against Claremont on March 20th at Bendigo Bank Stadium.
Two senior games were played in very challenging conditions; Peel Thunder won game 1 convincingly, and Subiaco returned the favours in game 2. The coaches were pleased with the overall performances as many players intent to embrace and implement our new style of play was encouraging.

Thunder Colts have a testing time
Wednesday, 24 February 2010 12:16
Recently the Peel Thunder colts underwent benchmark testing at Murdoch
University as part of the WAFL State Academy Program and the boys returned some
very positive results.
Our Tallest Players tested were Dominic Hardy and Josh Richards, both coming in
at 193cm. Josh, not surprisingly, recorded the greatest reach of the group as he
was able to extend to 251cm while standing still, one arm outstretched above his
head.
Josh Mathers topped the Standing Vertical jump at 67cm, while he again topped
the best results for the Running Vertical Jump at 88cm.
