Peel Thunder 2023 Indigenous Jersey.

Friday, June 30, 2023 - 2:22 PM

Trevor Stack addressed our Peel Thunder Men's teams at training on Thursday night in conjunction with local Mandurah artist Daniel Mchenry presenting and explaining the story behind his design for our new 2023 Indigenous Jersey.

The Peel Thunder Men's players, alongside staff collected at our home ground to hear from Artist Daniel Mchenry the explanation of his design for jersey.

The hammer of Peel Thunder sits at the centerpiece of the design symbolising the club as the gathering point for players, staff, and supporters and emphasising their unity.

The interconnected band located at the top of the jersey features blue circles, representing the three rivers flowing through and give life to Mandurah. The inclusion of these rivers highlights the connection between the club and our local community.

The pink and teal symbols on the chest of the jersey draw inspiration from the historic colours of both the women's and men's codes.

These symbolic elements continue to the back of the jersey, where they wrap around to another meeting place. The dual symbols on either side of this connection represent the dual premierships achieved by both the women's and men's league sides.

Trevor Stack spoke to the group on the importance of NAIDOC round and deepening understanding of culture in the region before guiding the group to pass through and bathe in the smoke of the ceremony.

The club would like to thank Trevor Stack for conducting the Smoking Ceremony & Daniel Mchenry for his design.
