Thunderbirds to play in Second Semi Final this weekend

Peel Thunderbirds hosted Swan Districts in the last Home & Away match of the 2010 season and with the double chance already in the bag it was an opportunity for the Thunderbirds to find some form before the business end of the season.

Although Peel were slow to start the defence headed by Danielle Robinson held firm in the first term as neither side were able to create scoreboard pressure and the scores were level at one goal a piece at quarter time.

The Thunderbirds increased their work rate in the second quarter through the midfield and was supported by Sabrina Traub and Lisa Dubberlin who took their chances to build Peel a lead, but unfortunately Swans were able to kick 2 goals in the dying minutes of the term to again level up the scores.

Appointment coup for Peel DFDC

The West Australian Football Commission is excited to announce that high profile business-woman and respected politician Marion Blair has been appointed as Chairman of the Peel District Football Development Council, bringing a broad range of experience to the role vacated by Dr Neil Carroll.
 
Mrs Blair's interest in football started from an early age and has seen her remain a fan ever since. Her wealth of community involvement also stretches over a number of areas and gives the Peel District an excellent advocate for participation in our State's leading sport.
 
Her experience in the political arena began in 1987 when she was elected as a Local Government Councillor, which was followed by nearly 20 years of service, nine of these as Deputy Mayor.

That is the central question behind an on-line youth survey that has been launched by the West Australian Football Commission.


Log onto http://www.perceptionmapping.com/wafcyouthmap where children aged up to 17 who play football can anonymously answer questions that will enable WA Football’s governing body to directly find out what motivates, irks and excites its youth-aged participants.
