An inaccurate Peel Thunder suffered a 24 point loss to East Fremantle at ATOM Stadium on Saturday.

Peel Thunder have gone down by 92 points to Subiaco in the Grand Final rematch at Bendigo Bank Stadium

Peel led at quarter time but trailed for the rest of the match, finishing 7.6 (48) to the Lion’s 21.14 (140).

The Thunder shot out of the blocks with the first three goals of the game, Luke Strnadica kicking two and Stefan Giro slotting one in the first five minutes.

Players added to Kia WAFL State Squad

South Fremantle’s Marlion Pickett and East Fremantle’s George Hampson have been added to the 2018 Kia WAFL State Squad for this weekend’s State Game against the South Australian National Football League in Adelaide.

The game will be played at Adelaide Oval at 11.40am WA time on Saturday May 12 as a curtain-raiser to the Port Adelaide v Adelaide AFL Showdown. The game will be streamed live on the WAFL website and WAFL App and simulcast on radio in WA via Sport FM 91.3fm.

Pickett and Hampson both trained with the squad at Fremantle Oval last night after South Fremantle’s Ben Saunders, Ashton Hams, and Haiden Schloithe were all forced to withdraw with injuries.

It was a tough and bruising encounter. Both teams came into this game with 1 win and 3 losses so victory was critical. Important to keep touch with the top 5.

PEEL Thunder and Claremont were both desperate to win on Saturday at Bendigo Bank Stadium and in the end it was Peel who control the second half to come away with the 20-point victory.
 
Both teams had won just the one game apiece in the opening five rounds of the 2018 WAFL season heightening the need to return to the winner's list when they did battle on Saturday in Mandurah.

Peel Thunder have won their second game of the season, defeating Claremont by 20-points at Bendigo Bank Stadium.

Despite two late goals from the Tigers, Peel’s continuous pressure resulted in a 14.14 (98) to 11.12 (78) win.

The Thunder came out strong, kicking five goals to Claremont’s two in the first quarter.
