THE wait is almost over for the beginning of the 2022 WAFL season with three huge match ups to open the new campaign on Good Friday with Round 1 to conclude with the other two matches on Saturday including a Grand Final rematch.

Round 8 in the 2022 WAFLW season was spread across Friday to Sunday and by the end of it, South Fremantle had recorded its second ever win while Claremont and East Fremantle had won impressively to maintain their hold on the top two positions.
The Round 8 action got underway at Fremantle Community Bank Oval on Friday night with South Fremantle creating another slice of history by beating Subiaco 8.2 (50) to 1.4 (10).

We started with 56 players in early December for pre-season and have finalised our squad to 31 plus a couple of train on players. We have a great group of key position players as well as a strong midfield which is really encouraging for the club’s future.

The colts started pre-season in the first week of December with over eighty players and it has been the hardest in terms of finalising the squad. The depth in the region is as strong as it has been for a number of years, and we have had good players miss out on making the squad.
