The WAFLW had a bye this week before facing off against last years grand finalist East Fremantle next Saturday.

A long pre-season culminated in a round one face off on Good Friday against East Fremantle. While there were some elements of good football, the Sharks controlled all aspects of the game and were deserving of a 30-point victory.

Good Friday football saw Peel host East Fremantle in Round 5 of the Futures program at Lane Group Stadium on April 7th. With the opportunity of starting the club’s marquee day’s proceedings off, Peel selected a strong side which saw the inclusion of 2 more of their South West based players into the 25 man team whilst choosing not to add any of their developing bottom aged colts players.

Round 4 of the Futures program saw Peel play host to Claremont in a stand-alone night game at Lane Group Stadium on Friday 31st March.  After consultation with Claremont it was agreed that Peel would select a side that would see both sides evenly matched on talent. Peel took the opportunity to add 2 of their South West based players into the 25 man team and didn’t select any of their developing bottom aged colts players.

For the first time since 2020 Peel Thunder doesn’t carry the mantle of reigning premiers heading into a new season.
